I tried a soak at 100degrees (straight out of the boiler) for a couple hours with a lid on, didn't have much luck. Maybe pre-soaking the corn would help.

thanks all for the suggestions and ideas - I've bought a corona mill to start with to trial this method, and will head to bunnings for one of those paint stirrers. Long term, might process the corn with the corona first, then process with a normal grain mill till fine.

How are you getting on with this? Corn is coming up next for me..
