did another one after doing a service on my ute then turning a slight taper on the die it did come off a lot easier . gave it a bit of a rub with scotch bright pad and took a pic of the best side . the other side which is the top side on the die has a little sharp raised ring around the edge of the ID this is because the female part of the die has a few thou clearence over the male half . but it wont be a problem just a matter of putting that side up where the solder will go and it will give the solder more to hang onto . each one i make gets a little bit better than the last maybe i should stop berfore the start getting worse . i am not planing a build for quite a while yet anyway just getting ready for when i do . but its fun making stuff so all good as long as i am enjoying myself cant ask for more than that .

its more of a very very slight indent around the middle and i mean slight . its caused by the thickness of the copper at both OD and ID edges where it rolls over i think ??

Yeah it is and it can be beneficial if you use standard triclover seals.
