Stainless Steel Gas line Condenser

Postby Walker » Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:21 am

I’ve searched quite a bit here on using SS gas line in lieu of copper tubing for a condenser build but couldN’t find anything. Is there anything here on building one that I may be searching for in the wrong way?

sorry mate I think you may have to expand on your thoughts here a little bit. Are you meaning to the vapor tubes inside the condenser. If so I think you will find that everyone will recommend for you to persue the true tried and tested approach of all copper. Its safe for high % ethanol and is guaranteed to not rupture or break. Worst case at solder joints.

Hey Walker
I assume you mean something like this for an insertable coil
Pacific hose flex has a range.
Cheers

Thanks Nathan02 my motto tried and do :D that’s why I posted in the research section. This isn’t something I though up it has been done before. The gas line, USA, that I’m referring to is corrugated SS and comes in several different sizes. No coating on the outside just SS. Basically it’s and easy way to make a coil without having to bend copper tubing which I have tried and failed. I worked on it today and when I figure how to post a picture ill show you what I’ve done so far. I will be using it on a modular CCVM still, I think. I’ve ordered some parts that don’t require any soldering and others. I’ll have to do some but trying to keep that at a minimum.

Maxxx that’s what I’m talking about except mine doesn’t look that pretty ;-)

Stig who are they? I will be making a product condenser and the reflux condenser like Maxxx showed! I’ll be using the SS gas line.

So no one on this site has every tried doing this with any sucesss?

Gotcha! That looks like a great idea for a helix coil!
