Hi all, been a slow night at work again :)) . This is only one of 8 designs i did tonight haha. What do you think of this idea? :-| . The reflux falls down onto the reducer and gets vaporized?.
Cheers

Right first I'm not going to say what it looks like or where I might think you were when ya got the idea but I can say it would be a waste of time . There would be next to no refluxing in that packing as there is no condenser above it and the restrictions you have placed could if anything slightly increase pressure below them slightly raising to boiling temp and making ya cuts smear a lot :twocents-mytwocents: or it could just work like a standard pot still with some unneeded crap in it
I agree, I have found no noticeable difference other than a longer heat up time to the point were you get distillate output, running with packing or an empty still head. The packing just all gets up to the same temp as the vapour and acts as if it is not there unless you force reflux somehow.
I run all stainless, so maybe with copper you might get more natural reflux - but I can only speak for my first hand experience.
Thanks fella's, i put the wrong pic up and couldnt be assed changing it at 2 in the morning!. It is ment to be a reflux still with the condenser above the packing!!.
