Dissconect shutoff valves

Any one know of a reasonably priced shutoff disconnection valve/coupling? Would like some on my cooling lines and also I want to get plumbed up from my boiler to fermenter and having these would make life easier... Asked at my local hydraulics shop and they wanted $70 pair surely there's something cheaper.

Thought about them, wondering do they block off when disconnected ?Or can you get ones that do? Idea is to separate hoses without getting water everywhere..

Bunnings have garden hose couplers
that have a stopper in them so when not conected to anything the seal up.

Its usually only the female fitting that seals up when talking about air fittings.
Hydraulic fittings seal both but as you found out they are pricey.

The garden hose fittings work the same as the air fittings with only the female fitting having a method of stopping the flow.

You will need to make all your hoses have female fittings so that the line does not drain when you disconnect them but that wont stop the component from draining (PC, pump, tank or RC).
A tap or valve might be needed to stop the components from draining but that could get costly as well.

I think maybe airline fittings all female any male fittings would need a ball valve. The male points could double as cut over points switching from transferring/draining /cleaning or maybe I could find a sealing male fitting used perhaps for joing hoses Thanks for the ideas fellas will do some more research and some more searching round local shops.

Wondering would 10mm rather then 12mm cooling water lines to condenser be to small ? Setup is 2 inch pot 700mm leiberg 1" over 3/4, on a t500 boiler? Found these for a decent price http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?mai ... s_id=26389 allows me to disconnect and put the pot head out of sight quickly..

Found out today when my order arrived why the fittings are so cheap they are not shutoff valves just a quick coupling :angry-banghead:
