OK first off apologies if someone has addressed this before.

I know they're a bit geeky and high-tech but has anyone experimented with vacuum stills/rotary evaporators?

Only with removing alcohol from solutes (real experiments). They work like absolute magic though.
Doubt you'd be able to make anything more than neutral though.
