Say Hi and introduce yourself

G'day and - Slow Turbo Clear results.

Postby jonoville » Wed Jun 14, 2017 10:41 am

HI people
I have been brewing bourbon using Turbo Yeast and Turbo Carbon for years now and I have always used Turbo Clear to clear the wash.
The problem is the Turbo Clear used to do it's job in 1 to 3 days but now it takes 1 to 3 weeks and I can't work out why.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have a reason please.
Thanks.

Hi and welcome.
You're going to get a million posts telling you to ditch that rubbish. But whatever works for you I guess. Read the beginners thread bout turbos and you'll be happier without them.
As for the clearing, is it temp related?
All washes will clear naturally given a few days or more anyway so you could probably save a few bucks just by waiting a few days after the ferment has finished.
Maybe your ferments are taking longer than expected to finish so wont clear? Check your fg.

welcome mate, as Warra suggests, and i am not trying to discourage the system you are familiar/happy with...but... TRY the next level, you will be blown away with the ease, cheapness and taste. After all how hard could a Tomatoe Paste Wash be? My mate WAS a diehard Tubo user... operative word...WAS.

Reason: It's all good kenster, I'll fix you're "as" to a "WAS"
