Hey guys,

Another first time poster, long time lurker. I've been keeping an eye on this forum since the ripe old age of 18 when distilling just seemed like a cool thing to learn about but not an actual hobby I could do. However about 6 months ago or so I decided to give it a crack and built my boka from heaps of info on this forum. Since then I've done a bunch of Tpw and FFV and have had really great success with making limoncello and averna for the Italian side of the family. However I've decided to take the plunge and build a bubbler on a student budget so wish me luck. Just want to say thanks to all the regular posters for the great amount of info on this forum and the great atmosphere on it.

Btw the name is a favourite character from a Matthew Riley novel just in case anyone wants to know

Hey copperhead,

Hi :greetings-waveyellow: , welcome.
Sounds like your all over the stilling stuff so the upgrade from the boka to a bubbler will be easy and it will blow your mind! They are a great machine and you won't regret the investment.

Good luck bud and pics are a must.

Thanks guys bubbler is probably going to have to wait until at least september as I'm fully booked with work, family and uni until then but trust me when the bubbler is built there will be pics. Really liking the bubbler db just built as the sightglasses have been one of the things putting me off building both for difficulty and cost so the option of building without and maybe adding them down the line seems like a great way of doing it for my budget/skill.

When you say GLASS are you referring to a *deleted shit seller* design

I have had a pretty serious look at a glasser, what with the primus glass being pretty cheap and all so I'm still tossing up. Only reason I like the more simple design was that I already have a 1.5m long piece of 3" sitting around that I can use. I know 3" is a bit slower but honestly I'm pretty patient and I don't drink all that fast.

Quick question how is the bottom plate attached to the riser off the keg? I assume hard solder for strength but just thought I'd ask to make sure.

Sorry Zak, i thought that was a design not a brand or as you say "shit seller" just another one. :angry-banghead:
it's mentioned in other threads here without being edited by a moderator :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'm not real sure what your asking there but all my joints are soft soldered. I tiged a 4" ferrel to my keg and used an "easy flange" to join my still to keg.
