Hi,

This is my second batch. The first one was only 10L and was ready in 7 days. The second one is 21L. It has now been 18 days and the SG has read 1.000 for the last 3 days. Can someone please let me know if it is still ok.

What wash? Prob cold weather has slowed it. Ifts its been same for three days sounds like its done..

Like Bluc said, what wash are you using? Any wash will be a bit slower in winter

I'm not sure if I had done the right thing but I had the exact same thing happen to me with a 60 litre ferment, I was not sure if it was due to cold temps being winter and not having a heater at the time, all I did was give it a vigorous stir up and airlocked it again and it was finished in 2 days. Not sure if I just fluked it but worked. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Wash made from dextrose, pure yeast & carbon.
On a heat pad. Currently at 28 degrees.

28 c is too hot for that yeast and if when you added the yeast if the temperature was too high the yeast also creates heat and adds to the problem .

Forget about the turbo yeast shit and read up on the tried and proven recipes here.

welcome mate, as Zak says... give the Turdbos the flick and a few hints... invest in a larger fermenter as almost the same amount of effort goes into a 30 lit batch as a 10. Dextrose may be an over kill, sucrose(cane sugar) does the job quite nicely and is cheaper.(unless you are chasing a particular flavour, which you probably arent). Read up about carbon filtration, some here use it but many dont as the Tried and Proven recipes will save you bucks and time resulting in a superior product. Early days are hard as there is a lot of info out there but we never stop learning in this hobby.
The dudes in the shop will convince you their gear is the best...cos they want to sell it.

It sounds like it’s finished, whether it did the full job or not I'm unsure. It could have been too hot, or the cold weather like the blokes above said or it may just have finished itself either way if you run it at 1000 it won't hurt anything it just won't yeld as much alc.

Finished it off. Turned out well. Came out at 58% from my AirStill.
