Hi bluc, I've mainly been just mucking about with the vodka and flavourings of such but I can't wait to be able to have a still that's going to let me make a good rum. I'm still trying to figure out what way to go yet with my new still thinking about a pot still to start with but I really don't know.

Welcome mate. Your still can make rum using a good rum recipe. Wont be a lot but with a couple of three strip runs you should get a full load for a spirit run for your boiler.
Read heaps and enjoy.

No not a ford ... it's just a number I will remember my favourite riffle. I do a bit of long-range shooting manly F-Class at my local club that's all that the number is about So to stop the confusion I probably should have had .308 sorry about that. :shifty:

Welcome Paul.

There's lots of great information within the forum to help get you on the right path for your upgrade. If you're looking to get into the so called brown spirits, you'll want to look at pots and bubblers for sure. From what I've seen, most folks end up going down the bubbler road eventually however there's also a number that are making great rums and whiskies with a plain old simple pot still.

If you're not sure which way you want to go, you can always start of with a modular pot still and add the plate sections later should you so desire.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
