I'm 43 sparky from perth WA. I picked up a T500 reflux still with the copper column and condenser in May of this year I regret not reading these forums before i did as I see a lot of people don't like them and the criticisms sound well founded.
I have completed 5 runs which are aging on bourbon blocks in 10 liter demijohns and have not run into any problems as yet..
I have always run at around 50 output water temperature and achieve an average AVB of 94 then filter .
I use R.O water in the wash and to dilute I also ferment in a climate controlled cabinet that I had sitting around in my factory unit then filter before distilling.
However after reading doublueju post in the newbies cnr
I am making the recommended changes to copper and a few more.
This is the first forum I have ever joined I don't face book or do any form of social media so please forgive any faux pas
Cheers
Ken

Hi Ken,
Welcome aboard, plenty of good info and helpful people to be found here. Try the TPW recipe it makes a relay good neutral and is cheap as chips.
I'm not on the Facebook or the twitters either, I have absolutely zero interest in that stuff.

Welcome mate,

Like yourself I don't do social media, my only suggestion is that given out countries archaic laws, it pays to err on the side of caution and maintain a bit of anonymity.

Sounds like you're doing well though, upgrade to a bubbler abd youre laughing :-D

Weetbix wash with some decent cuts makes a fantastic vodka and for very little money.

Welcome Ken, you can make some good spirit using the t500 and enjoy the hobbie. If the hobbie grabs you you can alway upgrade. No need listern to the negative perfectionists... I am happy with my t500 while taking advice on how to run it from this site. Cheers
