how are we all, returning to making spirits after a fair few years away from the hobby, just purchased a pure distilling reflux, nice little still and have had good results in the past with it.

The thing to keep in mind is dont get greedy with your cuts.
Heads and tails are not desirable.
Don't sweat how much you don't include in the final total, it was minimal cost to make for the volume you get.
Even if it cost $50 for the 30L wash and you only end up with 2L of hearts you are still WAY! ahead of buying commercial stuff that is only meh.

Hey all first batch distilled today 3lt of good stuff little over 1lt to go back into the next batch. Clean and smooth has almost no smell loving life. Thinking 2 lt will go onto oak chips and the other lt i will try infuse with fruit still not sure how yet but gonna have a go. Oh btw the 3lt is 94% at 18 degrees

Great news, glad it all went well for ya :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Look through the tried and proven for some ideas on what to do with your neutral. I personally love the Lemoncello and the G dropper :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I would be careful with oak "chips" they have alot of end grain which can impart some unwanted flavours. Your better off getting some oak dominoes, way better. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
