AD searchHi been a member for a few weeks now just browsing and learning. I bought a cheap ebay China pot still to play with but have realized that im more chasing a reflux style.
Ill be posting a wtb in the wtb section and see if anyone has one for sale.

Don't panic yet, there's nothing wrong with a pot still. If you drink brown spirits like whiskey/bourbons or rum that's exactly what you want. If you really want to do neutrals something will pop up or have a crack at building your own, there's plenty of threads on reflux builds around here.

Whilst you're waiting for a reflux still to show up, you could get stuck into a rum or a whisky/whiskey wash and run that through your pot so you can start the learning process earlier. The principals of cutting are the same no matter what type of still you're using and when you do get your reflux still you'll be a dab hand at running the the pot still so you can strip your washes before running them through the reflux as neutral. Assuming you want adopt a strip/spirit run strategy that is. Some folks don't and are happy with the results they get from running the washes straight through the reflux still.

Welcome - pick a simple recipe from tried and proven and start a smallferment . Get your head around that and then read read read the beginners questions.
While your wash ferments and clears. The hook in, take it slow and record record your results. It's a great hobby

Yura, nice response. I have followed your short existence on the site and i commend you. Read, read, go slow, record, start with proven simple stuff, read. THAT is what it is all about. You are a quick learner & good advice...keep up the good work.
