Hi all,

Newbie here, have the use of a grain father and turbo 500 still, ran my first batch of turbo (and only batch) couple weeks ago, spirit was mixed with scotch essence and is drinkable but I mix with lemonade so it hides bad whiskey flavours anyway, I have a TPW batch fermenting at the moment which I'm keen to taste the results of, lots of helpful information for newbies on this forum so thanks to all for that.

Cheers Shaun

welcome aboard mate :greetings-waveyellow:

looks like your off to a good start with a TPW on the go. make sure you have a go at doing "cuts" (there's a link in my signature below) it will make a world of difference :handgestures-thumbupleft:

with a Grainfather you'll be looking at doing some all grain mashes in the future i'm guessing so you'll be looking for a pot or bubbler before long, that will be a whole other adventure :handgestures-thumbupleft:

good luck

Welcome to the forum :greetings-waveyellow:

For something a little different try a FFV wash as well :).

Cheers for the welcome guys, plenty of reading ahead of me. My brother owns the grain father as he's right into beer brewing and the still is a mates so I have not had to invested much, which is great for me, I'll use the wealth of information here to help me fast track my learnings, will be looking at getting a pot still in no time

Welcome Slowey.

You'll notice a BIG improvement with the TPW over the turbo rubbish for neutral but for a great whiskey base, check any of breakfast cereal recipes in the Recipe section when you get your pot.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
