Hi All,

I'm reading a lot of good things about the above. Anyone know where you can buy it in Oz without paying $$$$$ postage from the US?

Cheers

Welcome here mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Any reason good old lowans bakers yeast won't work for you? Countless people here use it to good effect. :-B

Bakers yeast does the trick but it's not exactly the Ferrari of yeasts. If you're going to spend on good yeasts go for actual distilling yeasts.

Yep very good point, probably not much use importing bakers yeast, if your going to pay postage then it might as well be a better more expensive yeast :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thank you for your replies!

I'll give the Lowans a go, or, like a ou say, pay out a bit more for some 1118.

Yeast is a fascinating subject, so much to learn!

Cheers

You can get ec1118 here no probs at you local brew shop.

What are you using it for? 1118 will be good for neutrals but not really good for whiskeys. I use lowens in all my whiskeys and they turn out fine. Once you get right into the hobby you might want to change your yeasts as your pallet evolves. But to start out lowens will be easier.
