Gday from SOR PERTH

Postby Wikidstix » Wed Nov 15, 2017 6:33 pm

Gday everyone,

Running a t500 reflux and a 2 inch pelican pot still with a voltage controller

Image

Looking to upgrade and want to build a 4 inch perforated plate column so I've come on the forum to get some ideas.

Soo far ive got a bit of info for the bubbler.

4" copper,

5mm graph paper 1.6mm holes. Unsure of downcomer size.

stainless steel ferreles, 5 x 140mm sections, 2 inc sight glass, 500mm packed section,

dephlegmator- 4 inch x 100mm

Shotgun condenser- 2 inch x 500mm

Still need to research tube sizes for condensers. heating elements. And trying to find templates for condenser plates if anyone can guide me.

Any advice appreciated :)

Also having dramas trying to pm. Im guessing its because im new?

I have seen inkjet transfering and iron on inkjet transfer paper but are just gloirfied stickers. Thinking maybe get a stencil laser cut and use black meat dye.

Hey Mate. Welcome aboard. 3/4 for the downcomers and stick em above the plate by 3/4 of an inch. Works fine for me anyway. The main thing with a perf plate is a nice tight fit around the plate to main wall. The bigger the gap the more the power required to keep the bath up. And like ol mate said, don't be afraid to read up. Some of us read every build thread and every flute post over at homedistiller before even starting.
