Hello All From VIC

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hello All From VIC

Postby Andyj986 » Fri Jan 19, 2018 1:15 am

Hi all,
First of all I'm Andy, 31, from VIC.
A little about me in dot point form,
Things I Like:

* I like pina coladas and taking walks in the rain
* I like 2/3rds of Arnotts Shapes in a packet, (the rest can go to hell).
* Bar fights.
*kittens, little fluffy wuffy kittens.

Things I Dislike:

*Balloon animals, its not a Giraffe its a bent up balloon!
*Eating just cos I've run out of alcohol!
*Fat people who aren't jolly, (fat people have to be jolly its the LAW!)
*Hangovers!!!
*Materialism and not having enough stuff.
*Small Stones with Sharp Edges.
*Night Shift.
*Sneezing on the inside of the windscreen AND using the wipers to clean it up?

There's more but that will do for now.

New to this hobby, did some research, printed heaps of stuff (Thanks work for your paper and resources).
Brought a Still (LM Reflux) in kit form that gave me every thing I need to get going.
Put a turbo wash on, started with 1.106 on the hydrometer, fermenting stopped in 3 days with .860 ish (couldn't work out why), but doubt the hydrometer would be telling me lies.
So degassed, and cleared it that day (I was excited and impatient that day).
Its been 4 days, still waiting for it to clear haha, probably a rookie error.
Started a TPW yesterday, in case ive just made some window cleaner (not keen on the carbon streaks though).
Appeared a bit clearer today, guess ill keep waiting?

Not sure where ive gone wrong yet,
All part of the learning curve.

Cheers.

 It appears that my post was edited.
I don't like "pina coladas and taking walks in the rain" and
"kittens, little fluffy wuffy kittens".

I know that's it been put there in lieu of what I originally had written, and I get why, understood ;-)

They're great when you get them all crunchy on the outside with a nice steak diane sauce.
I'm a big fan of 'fluffy wuffy kittens' too. Wink wink. :))

Guys I think we’re losing the point with discussing fluffy kittens and pina coladas.
The serious and valid point to this thread is that no one likes all Arnotts biscuits :teasing-tease: 8-}

Welcome aboard mate. Looks like you are up for a laugh which is good :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Your on the right track ditching the turbos, they're not worth the trouble with all that chemical crap the get ya to put in it. The crap tastes like nail polish remover anyway. It is more than likely that it did finish in 3 days, they're designed to do that, it's they're selling point. Only problem with that is it stresses the yeast and makes ya drink taste like crap.

Keep onto the tpw and you'll be good to go. It will take longer to ferment and will have a lower yeld but it is worth it and a darn sight cheeper too :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Enjoy the new hobby mate

Thanks Woodduck,
Yeah the turbos came with the still kit I brought so put it down to have something to compare to when the TPW is done.
Considering I just brought a 3D printer all of 3 weeks ago, printed heaps of useless crap, then decided “all this printing and designing deserves a drink”, Friday last week I brought a still, and here I am haha.

One extreme to another lol
