About time I said G’day

Say Hi and introduce yourself

About time I said G’day

Postby Lowey79 » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:07 am

As the title suggests, I’ve been lurking around here for a while and thought it was about time I introduced myself!

Wayne is my name, but most call me Lowey. I got into homebrewiing a year ago after winning a Snap-On kegerator.
I did the kit’n’kilo thing for a month or two, but quick took the leap into AG when a Grainfather popped up secondhand at a price I couldn’t refuse!

So I’ve been producing some awesome beer since then, and just recently acquired a T500 dirt cheap and have been playing around with distilling for the last couple of months.

Being partial to a nice whiskey, I’m looking to move toward pot stilling and AG recipes after building a new still.

So that’s a little about me.... See you all around the forum!

Cheers!

Gday :handgestures-thumbupleft:
A pot still on your t500 boiler coupled with your beer brewing experience will make you a great whiskey.

Hey bluc,

Yeah I’m slowly training my nose to make cuts, and I’ve been getting some pretty good neutral that I’m aging on oak.
I’ve tried TPW, but found I prefer the results from the FFV recipe in the Tried and Proven section here.

Welcome to AD Lowey.

If you like FFV as a base for oaking, have a go at WBAB - it makes a great whisky.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
