All-grain homebrewer from WA turning to distilling

Hi All,
Yes, I'm also from WA. Located in Perth (NOR), Mid-40's.

Been homebrewing beer for quite some time (all grain) using a Robobrew and have been researching distilling for about 6 months.

Bought a T500 reflux as a beginners still to make neutrals(vodka) for the wife (with flavoured essences). Once I get the hang of it I intend to get a second still to make whiskey (for myself) using my all-grain mashing skills.

Cheers
Matt

Welcome mate, your skill with beer making will see you right for making single malts.

I use a robbo brew to mash my single malts with great success although I am still learning. Makes mashing easier.

Regards,
Nino.

Finished the Turbo wash as well as the TPW last weekend.
The Turbo smelt a bit off when compared to the TPW. Turbo smelt like very strong nail polish whilst the TPW smelt much softer. Both had ABV's of greater than 90. Don't think I will be using a turbo wash ever again.

Welcome mate. Glad to hear you tryed both washes and now know what we are all on about. Experimenting is the best way to learn as long as its not doing something dangerous that is. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Good luck with the next runs

G'day mate and welcome. Once you get the hang of the T500 and get bored of the neutral washes (make sure you make plenty for her indoors) you'll put your AG brewing into good practice and start looking for more. There's a post here somewhere (I've seen it but can't remember where) that will show you how to de-tune your current rig so you can start making some flavoured stuff. Good luck. :handgestures-thumbupleft: Cheers.
