Am I on the right track

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Am I on the right track

Postby Doug Blair » Thu Mar 01, 2018 4:02 pm

I have a alcoengine pot still from Kegland & I an interested in making gin. I am thinking of cutting my still just below the angle return & welding in a tri-clover fitting on so I can hang a gin basket off the thermometer sleeve. Or should I cut it into the downward section ? The pic may give a better idea....

Cheers

G'day mate, moved your post here as it's you first post so welcome :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Can't just hang your botanicals in the vapour path in your boiler rather than cutting your still up?

Or macerating the botanicals then rerunning it through the pot still?

This is the way I would go rather than carving up your pot still. Google "Odin's Easy Gin" for a good starting point (there's two versions of this, you one the one from HD forum).

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
