Well been reading through a lot of the stuff that's posted up in here and thought I'd best say hi before I start askin people questions. I'm pretty keen to see what I can achieve and enjoy my failures and wins along the way. Only very new to the distilling world and have started off with the t500 should of researched here before I purchased but not to concerned about it till I get a handle on things, and we'll ive have bitten off a bit more than I can chew straight up first hit out was the 25lt turbo wash that came with the kit and then have since run a 60lt TPW think I may chuck out the metho and stick with the TPW. Just got to work on cuts I think as I took 500ml cuts to get started with and just up to tasting and sorting now been a bloody busy few days !!!!

Sounds like you are off to a good start. But I reakon 250ml cuts would be better on a 25l wash :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'm with bluc there, go smaller cuts to start with. I use 300ml. Nothing wrong with the T500 mate, it just has limited capabilities that's all. It will get you started, you can always upgrade.

Will go smaller cuts for sure just need a few more jars underestimated just how much glassware I'd actually need !!

:text-+1: on bluc & woodduck's advice regarding cuts. Get those sorted out and your T500 will produce some mighty fine neutral. Have a read of this thread to help you get the best out of your T500 too.

Well Geoff you've come to the right place to learn so much from a lot of very knowledgeable people (me excluded) and get rid of the overwhelming feeling of not knowing it all.
I guess learning new things to try is what makes this hobby so rewarding! :D

Thanks prof green that's a good read and way different to how a ran the still but will try out your method on my next rims for sure...wasn't sure about rerunning the turbo stuff do you have to proof it down before rerunning it or is it fine to g back through at 93% ?

Hey Geoff, always water down to at least 40% before running again. Boiling anything higher will be a huge fire risk.

As Doubleuj mentioned, you should never run anything above 40% through your still. Dilute it down from 93% to 35% or 40% and you're good to go. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks fellas good to know it's a no go with the rerunning at 93%....no just got to fit a feints run in some time between washes cheers !!
