G'day Bluc,

Things are progressing but not quite as fast as anticipated.

Our glycol system for our fermenters and cold liquor tank is almost complete

Our steam boiler is about half way to being commisioned

We have nearly all the ancillary equipment as well, hoses, fittings, pumps etc

And we have had the frame go up for the tasting room, with electrical, plumbing, gyprock etc to follow on that side of the shed.

Looks fantastic!

I am very envious... shiny new stuff is always impressive!

Would lov to (one day) find out how much starting capital a microbrewery cost... probably not unlike any other busyness, but it would still be interesting.

Looking for reward to your offerings when they come out.

Bluc, yes there is a refrigerated chiller unit going outside that pumps a water/glycol mix through the system.

Ezitasting, yes the startup capital is rather large for what we want to achieve. It hasn’t helped being on a rural property as we don’t have common effluent we have had to deal with the waste water ourself which has involved plenty of earthworks and plumbing installing aerobic systems and an evaporation pond for our production waste.

We also only have single phase power hence why we have an LPG fired steam boiler and this is not a cheap item and also costly to install.

Sorry it’s been a while since any updates.

We are now into production and our tasting room is open to the public.

That’s a beautiful view of the tasting room!

Nicely done.

It looks like you have 2 x large stills... is that correct? Like a Neutral still (12 plates) and a brown spirit still (4 plates)... and I’m not talking about your hobby boiler...

EDIT: just read your set up under your avatar! :angry-banghead: shoulda had a ‘mommies’ look before talking!

In the sideways photo. The three tanks across back, fermenters? Also the parrot sticking out into photo on left and tank it's on is that a third still? Angle on condenser guessing pot config maybe for gin?

The parrot to the left would be the 12 plated still... as the 4-plated still is clearly visible on the right...

That the gin still mate to rerun the vodka through.

Yes the 12 plate is for vodka and hopefully we can crank up the 4 plater early in the new year for whisky and rum production.

The three tanks are fermenters bought second hand from the prancing pony brewery in the adelaide hills. the parrot is from the the 12 plater vodka still.

Sorry for the late reply, it has been busy here.

A better pic of the bar.
