I live on the Central Coast, NSW.

My initial aim was to produce a good quality neutral at a cheap price, but after weeks of reading and researching, I've come to realise that there is the real possibility of making scotch's, rum's, and gin's by myself in the backyard shed.

I realise that a T500 is not the best still to use, but is a good starting point.

I will be distilling my first TPW today, and this will decide if I want to continue in the art, and hopefully show ways in which I can improve the process.

Patience is the key here, you may fail on your first run but if you do it can be put back into the next.
Everything in this hobby moves very slowly.
Keep your outgoing water temp at about 55 and youll be fine.

Plenty of ways we can keep improving on, thats why most of us keep going with it.
To get the best possible product for basically next to nothing once your set up, patience is the key

Many of us started out with T500 and moved on to bigger and better gear once we outgrew it's capabilities. There are some here that still use one as it satisfies their needs. You can produce very good neutral with it if you run it the right way and use good clean wash as a starting point.
