Cheers from Sunny QLD

Hi guys and gals

Just a quick hello to introduce myself.
Only recently gotten into distilling but have done home brew beer on and off for about 20 years
I am mainly a beer drinker but do enjoy all different types of Rum - Bundy drinker for many years but loving Kraken Black Spiced and Ratu Premium Spiced at the moment - If I could replicate either of these I would be a happy camper
Primarily trying to achieve neutral spirit at the moment to leave on wood chips then use whichever essence to get the spirit I want - Will try pot stilling at a later stage for my rums
Also making lots of Vodka and liqueurs to keep the ladies happy for use in their cocktails

Thanks for having me

Cheers

Gday mate! :greetings-waveyellow:
Welcome aboard... your previous brewing skills will come in handy.
I started making vodka and flavouring with essences and steeping different flavours... it is a good stepping stone to bigger and better things.

Gday mate, thanks for the intro :handgestures-thumbupleft:
You’re on the right track by making swmbo her drinks straight away, I found it was the success to my drinking..I mean distilling hobby :laughing-rolling:
Best thing you can do after mastering your reflux is to go to the pot still or even bubbler and make some great rums.
With the right gear and the right techniques you’ll make something 10x better than kraken (and 1000x better than bundy)

Welcome Challpa.
Don’t get me wrong but why would you want to make neutral to put on oak?
