Hi there, just introduce myself,
Have been brewing beer, extract, for 4 years , always longnecks, haven't seen the need for kegs. Have in the last 2 months brought a T500 still. Have now done 7 distillation runs, improving each time. Now keen and curious about the TPW. I have been happy with the turbo yeast wash but will definitely be try the TPW soon.

If you were happy with the results from Turbo, you'll be beside yourself with joy after running the TPW.

You will notice that TPW gives you less in quantity however the quality after good cuts is worlds apart.

Thank you to everyone who responded.
I'm enjoying the new hobby, the TPW has been down for 19 days and gota little cold , I've been away for 2 week's, had just left it in the shed inside a old fridge, so have been reading reading reading, apparently the bakers yeast likes to be a bit warmer so have added some heat pad in there to get it to finish ,still at 1010 .
Will re still some of my Turbo run and check the results. :dance:

I worked on the theory when i started out... "If in doubt, keep it out". At least until you get a bit of a handle on things.

Thanks for your advice, I've got cuts ( head's and tails ) from 8 turbo wash's. Most of the time i only discarded the first and last cut 375ml as I have been using clear beer stubbies for cuts. And i am a rum drinker, so (assuming ) the various essance has probably masked my mixes, i have filtered the hearts separately, as wife likes the vodka, and make some gin as well.
1st run , all went in together, not sure how we drank that :think: :-D
Then started with the cuts, and now do 250ml cuts x 4 then 1.5 litre heart then back to 4 x 250ml jars to finish.
All these washes were either 6 or 8 kg sugar, and I read somewhere not to try and achieve more than 1.1l of 40% per 1kg of sugar, so have been only trying to get the 3.6 lt of 93% each run
All through the turbo 500 , i rince the column out after each run and pull it apart every 3rd , to clean the copper and SS saddle, .
Carnt wait for the TPW to finish, it was as per the recipe 5kg sugar.

Just need to chase up my cobber who tried to convince me year's ago to buy one and get his opinion on what to get to start with, i remember him saying you can always add to them.

250ml cuts is what i do in a spirit run. I haven't used turbos, but a lot would say to keep your turbo cuts for a sacraficial run on your new still when you get one. The TPW will be far better than the turbo gear. Getting more Alc from a single wash comes at the cost of quality. Start with something good and you've got every chance it will turn into something great.
Anyway, good to hear ya getting right into it... have fun learning, trial and error is the quickest way to do that! :handgestures-thumbupleft:
