Hi from NSW mid North Coast

Hi, been reading this forum fo a while & picked up some good info', so thought it's about time I started posting.
We moved up here 12 months ago onto a couple of acres, after I was made redundant from my engineering job. We're growing as much of our own veggies as possible, brewing my own beer & now making our own spirits.
I bought a second hand Copper T500 earlier this year, but unlike a lot on here, find it does exactly what I need. A few guys on a completely unrelated forum that I frequent also have them & are happy. Maybe if you want to do distilling as a hobby it's not up to scratch, but for someone like me, who just wants to make drinkable alcohol, it's fine.
I've made Scotch, Bourbon & Honey Bourbon, using a combination of essences & soaking on oak chips, Sambucca using essence & Limoncello using a method I found on here. All of them have been very drinkable. :obscene-drinkingchug:

Hi there, welcome.

I think that's great that it suits your needs :handgestures-thumbupleft: The T500 does cop it a bit around here but not because it's a bad still but because it has limitations. Mate this hobby is about making whatever it is that floats your boat. I guess I wanted the true experience of making spirits with all the ingredients to get a more authentic taste (I still have a ways to go for a true ag experience :laughing-rolling: ) The cordials just didn't do it for me.

Best of luck :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome to AD mate.

The T500 isn’t a bad still as such but many find they out grow it’s capabilities fairly quickly. Having said that, there are a few T500 users on the forum.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
