G'day Aussi Distillers
I've not long moved to Northern Queensland and are looking forward to the imminent arrival of my fermentation equipment and of course my Still.
Plans are well underway for the construction and establishment my new Home Distilllery/ Man Cave as well
I like to make Whisky and Bourbon and my wife and friends love the occasional vodka or two
I've been sussing out supplies for, and have begun collecting the necessary raw materials mostly from supermarkets for my fist few runs
I've been running Birdwatchers Tomato Paste Wash for a couple of years now with great success.
The first challenge I'm expecting is mastering fermentation up here in the tropics where ambient temperatures are much higher than anything I have experienced in the past. Fermenting without an external heat source is gonna be a blast too.
Any advise on distilling in the tropics would be greatly appreciated especially tips for fermentation or advise on best places for purchasing consumables.
I'm currently using a reflux still and 25L washes but as soon as I can set up my welders and can get my hands on a suitable keg I'll be upgrading to a 4" bubbler
Looking forward to distilling in the Tropics and of course chatting to other Distillers on Aussi Distiller.
Cheers
Pete
