Hi folks.
Newby here (Amberale).
I’ve been (mis)using a SS still or two for a dozen or so years it seems.
I bought my first one in Brisbane around 96 and only ran it a couple of times.
I retired from off farm work a few years ago and upgraded to a T500 which I have been using as per the HBS recommendations.

I happened to be looking for upgrades/mods to the T500 recently and came across the TPW and this site.
I like a lot of what I’ve been reading and I’m looking forward to trying some new methods.

I’m not so keen on the potential cost of the vast array of new equipment (Toys, the Studmistress would call them) that seem to be calling to my hip pocket. :-D

Anyway, thanks to all involved with the site and thanks in advance for the advice.

Humid actually, we somehow got 3.5mm of misty rain last night.
First decent rain this year.
Maybe I should have spent more time on the tractor as I did some ploughing yesterday.

Unfortunately, I was too slow to catch the Neutraliser(unless the current deal falls through).

This is a great group, good support and lots of advice.

Learnt something just now - be careful checking the parrot at start of strip run as the first vapours from a rum - stink.

Almost ready to go.
I’ve got a few washes finished and the bigboy Neutraliser is set up.
Unfortunately Easter/Anzac Day is not a great time to get a Sparky out and I’ll probably have to wait until next week for a couple of new power points and get the heater elements wired up.
I’m on tank water with gravity feed from 50’ up the hill so I have run 1” pipe to the bench and 18mm hose to the RC/PC.
It is full recycle into a tank off the shed.
It will be interesting to see how much flow I get.
I’ll pop up a pic when I work it out.

With that size pipe and that much drop you will actually have quite a few psi at a fairly high flow rate, my plumber mate told me 15psi per house storey - 10 ft

You may need to restrict it a fair bit to the reflux cooler and most likely will end up wanting a needle valve for it if you dont have one now

I’m not sure about that figure.
My research shows 0.43psi/ft head.
I know I have a lot of flow but I had problems running my T500 so I thought I would over engineer it to start with.
Adding an extra valve or a pressure reducer is easy and some folks seemed to have problems getting full reflux with the thin braided lines.
My sacrificial run will tell hopefully.

The “Rimmer” is great to move it around but I’ll have to source/buy an extension piece from somewhere to fit the bench height. ???$$$ :):)

It will all change for rum etc anyway.
I have some majorish work to level the floor anyway.

This was basically a shearers station in a shearing shed so it’s not exactly perfect foundations. :)
