G'day from the Central Coast

Say Hi and introduce yourself

G'day from the Central Coast

Postby Jono » Sat Apr 13, 2019 10:03 am

G'day,

This is my first post on any forum of any kind! Anyway I've been homebrewing for 15 years and I'm a fridgie by trade.

I'm a lover of all things beer and single malt whiskey.

I'm super keen to build a still starting with a 50L beer keg and a stack of left over copper. I'm thinking of building a removable column for neutral spirit first and then a different pot still head for making whiskey/rum later on.

I think my holy grail will be drinking my own Islay style single malt whiskey.

Cheers and thanks for having me,

Jono.

G'day Jono,
:greetings-waveyellow:
Your brewing experience will come in handy, especially if you're planning on mashing grain for whiskey.

Welcome Jono

Fridgy eh? gunna expect some gun metalwork out of you, no pressure :D

Dont stress too much about reusing what you have copper wise, make whats going to actually work and repay you for your building time :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks everyone. I'm thinking Boka/carriage to start off with to get some neutral stock and get over the initial anxious novelty factor... :))
