Tomato Paste Wash in Air Still

Postby Dougie » Wed Jun 05, 2019 8:49 am

I have been using turbo wash in Air Still for about a year. Then, I was told about the TPW yesterday. With the turbo I’m distilling 700mls of alcohol and adding 300mls water to make 40 abv.
Question, do I do the same with TPW?

Hi mate welcome :greetings-waveyellow: I moved your post to the welcome centre because it's your first.

I wouldn't use TPW in a air still. An air still is effectively a pot still so it will bring flavor from the wash over into your spirit. I would try a cereal based wash like the cornflakes, Weet-Bix or nutrigrain washes. They will have nice whiskey flavours.

Good luck
