Brizvegas noob

Howdy all from South East Qld. I’m a complete noob in the field, and here I was with my Essencia Reflux still (that I picked up for cheap on Gumtree) thinking I was a distiller... and then my brother in-law got me on to this site and now I realise how little I know. So I’m a massive fan of whiskey of all types, but in general I like all types of booze. My hopes are to eventually profile my own whiskeys that aren’t completely terrible.
Not knowing any better I’ve been using home brew turbo kits but I’m now about a week into my first TPW and looking forward to seeing the outcome. Not knowing much about whether or not I can de-tune the essencia still, I’m not sure whether or not it will even be possible to do strip runs. On top of that I never knew about, and therefore up until this point haven’t been cutting, and am looking forward to the product after getting my head around that.
The tax man was very kind to me so I may be looking for a new still in the near future once I learn which might be the one for me.
Excited to learn all there is, this seems like a really knowledgeable and friendly community. Look forward to chatting to and learning from you all.

Gday mate, welcome to the forum.
You’ll find a world of difference between the turdbos and the tpw and then when you’ve done cuts it’ll be even better.
I see you’re a whiskey drinker like me, I’d suggest a bubbler for your next still and run a Mac whiskey :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome Mavid.

Switching to TPW and making good cuts will make a massive difference to the quality of your spirits ans you will wonder why you bothered with the turbos once you've tried it. I can also recommend the WBAB wash for neutral; some folks say it has a better mouth feel than TPW. It also makes a cracking whiskey base.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Welcome mate! :greetings-waveyellow:
Get stuck into some light reading on here... :laughing-rolling: soo much useful information and tips.
I would suggest a good amount of time getting your head around making good cuts... a very critical piece to the puzzle in making a top drop.
