Afternoon all

Just a quick hello from a roaming pot stiller still early in learning but determined to give it a go. Thank you already for the fascinating reading all you lot have provided here. Much appreciated by someone just starting out.

Cheers
CJ

Welcome :handgestures-thumbupleft: what type setup you got, do you have a thumper? Would love to see a pic.

Welcome CJ.

Definitely need pics of your still!

You're a bourbon drinker I presume? There are some good recipes in the tried and proven section that may be of interest:
Mac's Bourbon Whiskey Knock Off (BWKO) and Zak's Cornflakes Whiskey (CFW).
Both are dead simple and yield very good results.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Howdy folks

I'll be doing a stripping run in a couple of days so will take some snaps of my very humble little set up :-)

Well spotted Professor - bourbon is indeed my poison and once I've got through my current UJSSM I'll be flipping a coin on your 2 excellent suggestions.

Loving this place.
CJ

Bulldog clips and flour paste are not safe bud.

You will not find one build on this forum that incorporates them.

For your safety I would consider making/buying a better boiler ;-)

Welcome in. At leastyou don’t have any open flames near that thing. best o luck but, seriously, think about an upgrade soon.

Thanks Yonder and Sam - points well taken.

I'm a little on the 'time available' side rather than 'money available' side of the seesaw at the moment but upgrading is never far from my mind.

I appreciate your concern folks.

regards
CJ

If you did the rest of the copper work yourself then grabbing a 50L beer keg and putting an easy flange on your column will be cheap as :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Funnily enough Sam there is a rather shiny keg for sale within this forum which I have my eye on :-) I did the rest of the soldering - first time so I wont take too close of a photo but happy with the learning curve so far. Have just learnt that a reputable plumbing supply mob in the area is happy to deal in 'per meter' for 2 inch copper so will hopefully practising some more soldering before too long.

Thanks for the come back dude/ette - really appreciated.
