Hello from the SA Mallee!

G'day guys,

I have been distilling on and off for about 6 years now, and each time i spend a little time away I come back with a fresh outlook and usually surprise myself with the improvements in my understanding of this avocation - particularly this time around.

I have always used the same 25L Boka reflux still with removable packing (pictured below), and until now it has been sufficient for my needs.

I am currently running 3 stripped 23L TPW washes through it and it is painfully slow. It must be time to build myself a modular plated column still. I'm having trouble at the moment sifting through the mountain of information here to find information relevant to my needs but I guess the longer I look, the more I will learn. As they say, all good things take time!

Anyway, greetings from SA's Mallee, good to be here.

Cheers.

G'day mate and welcome.

I spent weeks in the plated column section before I built my first. The more you read the more you'll work out what will suit your needs.

Good luck

Welcome mate!
It does take some time to get your head around all the specs you will require for a still suited to your needs, but if you just keep going over different builds you will get there.
You definately wouldn't look back from a 4 inch bubbler... they are top piece of gear.
Look forward to seeing your build. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
