Ahoy

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Ahoy

Hi,

Long time reader, finally got around to registering today.

Currently running a 35L Digiboil (or Robobrew depending on whats out) and an off the shelf AlcoEngine Pot & Reflux still lid. Previously ran an inherited (homemade) horizontal reflux(ish) condenser (the condenser is a separate unit to the boiler connected via copper tube dogleg). Had two boilers one a keg on a burner, the other an el-cheapo urn with a fitting added. Recently decided to go electric when a seal broke and the location of the break was going to be annoying to fix. Currently very impressed with the off the shelf solution, much less dicking about and swapping cylinders. Although I do miss the capacity.

Lots of homebrew experience, and actually keen to try and apply some of those techniques here and see the result. I have a few ideas for things I intend to try.

I am currently making my first proper rum with the new still. Low wines already taste pretty great so I expect this will be a great drop after the spirit run, oil addition and spending some time on oak.
