Hi I’ve just bought a Turbo 500 and I intend to learn how to use it I have 3 good friends who have owned them for years and I’ve been convinced to have a crack pardon the pun at making spiced dark rum which I drink now with Bundaberg brewed soft drink either ginger beer or mango cheers Jake P

Hi Jake,

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry about your T500 purchase :teasing-tease:

Nah, seriously mate, from one T500 owner to another the T500 can put out a decent drop, but as long you follow the directions here and not the directions it came with.

Also, use the Turbo wash stuff for your sacrificial and training runs on how to do cuts. All of this stuff is in the Newbies Corner - just follow the link at the top of the page and you'll be fine.

Happy stillin' :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome JakeP.

Many folks here started with T500 columns. Some still ujse them, other outgrew it's capabilities. Run it right, do your cuts and it will produce some good neutral for you. Have a read of this and the linked treads inside if you haven't already, it will help you get the best out of your still.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Welcome mate :greetings-waveyellow:

May struggle making rum in the T500, you may need a pot still attachment.

All the best mate. Enjoy the new hobby :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Not to worry, 10 posts seems like a lifetime away but it’ll come around quickly! I merely mentioned that you are in my area! :D
