Nah the other water inlet is right down the end near the collection point, would be a weapon for stripping :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah the Liebig is a little bit over top built it years ago when I wasn’t sure about all these this.
Correct the water in is down near the collection point.

Yes it can handle anything it’s thrown at it :))

The 2” is not a part of the condenser. The Liebig is just a bit to big but removable from the still.

Yes put up pictures years ago

Been running a sacrificial run today was just 4kg sugar an about 20L water an yeast.

Have hard it running fairly hard with a constant Thin stream at 65% alcohol. Very happy with that for a pot still an thumper.

Nice looking rig mate, missed seeing this one

Have you looked at insulating the thumper and connecting pipework?

My keg on gas picked up a heap of gg's with a basic shroud

The more heat that stays in the system, means either a faster run speed (stripping) or less gas/power used (spirit run), the more energy you transfer directly to the thumper from the boiler the better. The pipework and the thumper it self saps heat from the system

Yeah that’s a fair point I might look into doing that.
What’s a good insulation that is sorta water proof so it don’t get shagged when I clean them out.

For thumpers and electric powered boilers, many use reflective insulation backed with wool or foam, the foam backed one would be more water friendly.

If you use -anything- with a reflective foil, bear in mind that there is meant to be a air gap between it and the heat for the relective part of it to actually work

Even an sealed air gap will do wonders

Avoid using any galvanized metal near a lpg burner, bad fumes

Do a search on boiler insulation, many effective solutions out there, some will bling it nicely
