Greeting from sunshine coast

Postby Liquid managed » Mon Mar 30, 2020 10:04 am

Hi all

I'm new to the stilling scene & came here seeking knowledge & wisdom. I have come across an old still spirits super reflux still & that I have only used once. I unfortunately came across this forum too late & used turbo yeast on my last batch. The result had a definite stink to it that was cleaned up by charcoal filtering. I have learnt heaps from my readings here, & am looking forward to trying a TPW wash. Can't get the ingredients at the moment due to corona virus panic buying though.
Anyway, thats where I'm at in my stilling career. I'll post all my questions in the relevent sections.

Cheers

Welcome mate :greetings-waveyellow:

Make sure you give your still a good clean out, vinegar run and sacrificial run if it hasn't been run for a while. You can find all that info in the newbies corner.

Good luck mate

Welcome LM.
If you've only used turdbo in one batch then your doing well... I'm sure there is pleanty out there still thinking that stuff is as good as it gets  :puke-huge:
Its great to see new distillers reading and learning before they dive in too hard and fast not knowing really where their headed.
