G'day Everyone.

Say Hi and introduce yourself

G'day Everyone.

Postby Bodgy » Wed Jul 22, 2020 1:43 pm

Was told to post here, sorry for not introducing myself, I've always been a bit socially awkward and shy... until I get a few rums in me then the pants come off. Watch me windmill! :O)

So I have looked into doing a still a few times, I have always got a bit overwhelmed and wanted to go too big or thought I'll put it off and just make one myself. I was making organic home made Kombucha the other day and I thought "this is a shitload of work, and I don't even fucking like kombucha, plus it doesn't even seem to get me that drunk". This time I thought fuck it, just buy something and get going, I can always move on from there.

I live on the north coast NSW, got two ankle biters, missus, no dog (we do have some kind of stray rabbit that lives in the backyard and we do feed it, not technically a pet though - its a free rabbit and it comes and goes as it pleases), have a nice fishtank. We are into camping, good wholesome family activities and of course drug fueled swingers parties.

Just learning the ropes here and absorbing as much knowledge as I can. Decided upon a 2" Boka from 5 star to get going and I will try and document what I learn to help out other dickheads like me in the future.

Well it happened! My missus copped Andrews package today and once it was all out in the open she was really impressed with the length of his column! She was really excited and she was surprised that it came so soon! While she was taking the big black package from Andrew she also had a small white package in the other hand. So thankful to have her she's a bloody trooper.

So Andrew included a few unexpected extras with his delivery. Nothing a quick course of antibiotics won't clear up though. With the amount of wrap Andrew uses I'm surprised that anything slipped through but overall I gotta give his package a solid 7 out of 5. Thanks mate! Really appreciate your work.

In all seriousness, the 2" Boka is fucking shmick. Really nice welds and finish, I think I stared at it for like an hour. The laser etching of the 5 star product codes screams quality but I reckon you should get your logo on there. I sent pics to my mate that inspired me to get on the distilling train. He bought a "pure distilling" column from the local and he was like "looks good mate"... yeah right, I know you are jealous of the massive shaft pics I just sent you fucking pleb.

I ran some plain water through it just because I could. By that point I had a few rums down so my pants were off and I was screaming "CHOOOO CHOOOOOOOOO I'M A FUCKING TRAIN" while it spewed steam around the laundry.

I'm still a little way off getting to run it as an actual still because of a problem in the order but Andrew is a champ and is happy to sort me out. I appreciate the service man and all the advice on the phone. Can't recommend him enough.
