Hi guys,
I brew AG beer and I'm looking at a new kettle. Currently 1 vessel recirculated wort, doing 50L batches.
I'm thinking about getting something that can be used in the future as a still, but not sure which way to go.
I can buy a complete system like a digiboil, get a 2nd hand Blichmann, or I can cut open a 50l keg (but that puts me back to BIAB, and watering down in fermenter which is a PITA).
I would want to distill Bourbon, whiskey & rum, but also gin to reduce wife's gin habit costs ($60+ for ethanol and herbs! WTF?!)
So I guess that puts me in a pot still territory?
I'm not expecting anyone to give me a road map, but a gentle steer would be appreciated.
Current situation;
86l 1v electric kettle.
50L kegmenter with corny lid.
Temp controlled fermentation.
Champagne tastes
Beer pockets.
