Gday im Steve and Im just starting out

My father inlaw has been distilling for about 15 years with great success and has given me his small still to have a go.
Its a Still spirits super reflux 5 litre and today I fitted the element to a 15 litre stainless cooking pot and im hopeing to be able to distill 10 litres at a time.
Havein trouble with it tho as today i tried to distill 10 litres of water to see if it worked and i got half a cup from 4 hours of it running????? So ill have a read through and see if i can figure out wtf is goin on.

Gday Twisted, welcome to the forum mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Don't get too disheartened, water is more difficult than alcohol, as long as you didn't get any leaks and you had cool liquid coming out, your in business.
If all else fails, ask the father in-law :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

welcome.

start fermenting (checkout tpw in tried & proven for a good place to start - better than turbo and cheaper too) then you've got something to run..

enjoy

Or you could chuck a couple of cheap casks of wine in it and make some brandy.

Give you a chance to practice your cuts too. If you get it wrong, water it down to the original volume and run it again. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
