cheers all

I'm mainly thinking of doing bourbon flavour, but getting my head around the reflux still is enough for me before attempting pot still stuff.. just doesn't seem to go right. well for me anyhow.

I'd also like to get that pure vodka thing happening and then infusing/using essences for now.

I'll have to find the appropriate thread to air my concerns.

thanks
fd

welcome.

Sure people will work you threw it. I learnt from beer brewing that to make a good beer you have to do it properly and not use additives and crap lol.

I havnt tried one essence yet. but mum got a rum that was flavoured that was from a workmate and she said she only had one :)) I took a 2 bottles of macs rum up and she kept coming back. She sent the other crap home with me but I forgot it :laughing-rolling: :) I thought about it but didnt wanna redistill that.

I did smell it and it was so sweet smelt like a sugar bomb with a bit of color added

Hi Fizzy

Just go straight to the pot stil section. You can if you need to, but don't mess arround with essesnce, just go straight to some ujsm, or macs bourbon knock off.

You can make some nice vodka with a reflux. You can try a TPW (tomato paste wash), might work goodfor you.

Welcome along.

Cheers. I'll take a look. But as I only have the reflux. I'll get my head around that I think. Is there any point to a tpw as wouldn't a reflux will strip it all anyway?

Cheers

Yep, that's the point of the TPW. It's a cheap way to get clean neutral from a reflux using only supermarket ingredients.
