Hello and thanks

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hello and thanks

Postby Flames » Mon Jul 08, 2013 10:33 pm

Hi All,

I'm embarking on my first steps of what looks like being be a cool hobby.

I just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for what seems like a pretty friendly and welcoming community.

I look forward to benefiting from everyone's wisdom and maybe even giving something back down the line.

Am currently looking at a boka as a first build. Thinking a 2" is sensible.

Look forward to some fun with y'all

Cheers, Flames

Howdy flames,

sounds like you have a plan... just be aware that 2" Bokas aint quick and you need a good clear full day to run a 50lt wash...a luxury these days. It's a great choice for low volume neutral spirits for liqueurs, vodkas etc. could also combine with a cheap pot for stripping ...so only use boka for finishing spirit runs is another combo folk use.

Consider a 3 -4" Boka...now that's a faster beast by plenty.

If your interested in something faster then let us know your drink prefs, metal work skills and we'll work from there.

The upside with a 2" boka is when you get to the point where time is a hassle, you got plenty to build the new beast while keeping an eye on it.

Welcome aboard, I agree with bt1 the efforts of fermenting, storing, aging and running mean that you might as well scale up to make the run process a lot faster. 2" will take a fair while to run.

Advice gratefully taken.

4" it is!

Do you know of a tried & tested plan/set of dimensions for a 4"?
