Kia ora

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Kia ora

Postby Feijoa » Mon Oct 07, 2013 9:39 am

Hi all,

Another kiwi stiller on board, from a little north of Auckland.
Doing all grain malts, flavoured vodkas and the occasional beer and wine.

My rig is cobbled together, part S/S with a copper column.

Cheers!

Welcome mate. Does Kia Ora mean hello? There is a small town near me called Kia Ora and they do an annual noncompetitive motobike ride through the local properties as a fundraiser for the school. Bloody great fun.

Thanks for the welcomes :D

Kia ora is a Maori greeting that's in the NZ-english lexicon now too.
It means literally "be well/healthy" but gets used for "Hi" and "thanks" mostly.

Yep, it's about time I took a couple of pics…

Kia Ora mate!

Good to have you on board. I second the motion for some pics of your still. Also... If memory serves correct there was a discussion about a feijoa recipe somewhere.

Are you up cycling wine barrels?

Aye there's a good looking feijoa schnapps recipe from frozen thunderbolt. I have a batch on at the moment. Should be ready to run in a few days. Made my wash from frozen feijoas. Smells great, looking fwd to running it.
