Hi Folks, I am in NSW, at this stage I only have an air still but have gone from sugar washes to molasses washes with it. I need to upgrade - I know. Seeing some of the hardware here I think I know what I would like. I was brewing beer for 10 years and have had kegs most of that time. Looking forward to learning more, especially about yeasts, I have been using turbo's and filtering, I want to get out of turbo's and into better yeasts. Anyway, lookingforward to reading more and learning.

hi Mate like you i only have an air still at present however i have made the leap from turbos to tomato paste wash and i have to say the difference is unbeleivable the TPW is much cheaper to produce and tastes much smoother than turbos the tomato paste wash does take a little longer to ferment out compared to turbos but i prefer quality over quantity myself here is some food for thought if you go the home brew shop route then your average cost per Litre works out to about $4.20 per litre compared to the tomato paste wash that works out to an average cost of $2.60 per litre

once again welcome to the forum

Hi Chips :handgestures-thumbupleft: You'll be knocking out great booze in no time,just make sure you read and ask plenty of questions before diving in and building or buying a new still :handgestures-thumbupleft:
I've lost count of the number of stills I've owned :scared-eek: but am very much in love with the unit I have now :D :D I am also positive that it would be impossible to get anything that could beat it :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:
It's a very addictive hobby mate 8-} 8-}

Like pinto said, lots of reading will get you what you need. A simple pot still is a fantastic way to learn. Welcome to the forum and good luck.
