Hi people, been reading and reading and then some more reading before I attempted to make something worth drinking, and for a total Newbie, I have done well, or maybe the "tried and proven" are that good, that even I can't stuff em up...... :laughing-rolling: .
The rum, and Mc whiskey are brilliant recipes......... Thought I'd make some and let it sit a while before sampling,,,, Having done that all I can say is I am very Glad to have found this site and joined it.............Cheers everyone :happy-partydance:

Oh yeah, still letting it sit a while on oak a bit longer, the one I put in a 4 litre cask about a month ago is hidden now...lol, it's that good, and the rum has got me drinking rum again after years of not being able to stand the smell of Bundy.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, the more I look into this distilling the more I learn, and the more I learn, the more questions come up, and so far I have interesting solutions for issues that have come up, like today I bottled a few whiskeys. I got the first carboy and tasted it,,,,,,,,,,needed more flavour,,,,,,,,,, got the second carboy, and wowwwwweeeee more than enough flavour, the 2 mixed very nicely into a nice drinkable whiskey. These were both experimental whiskeys, one was a weetbix wash, and the other was a mixture of all the stuff that was "left over" so to speak.
the second carboy had floatys at the bottom, so I siphoned it off so that I could mix it with the other.
Now I have a few bottles to drink, and a full carboy to age a bit more.

This making my own stuff, the way I like it has got to be the way to go. But now I'm running out of space........lol

Oh yeah ... space becomes a problem alright ... the missus keeps complaining about 4 litre bottles being spread out across the garage floor ... who cares, I'm feigning deafness...
