Another Newbie

Postby Django » Tue Jan 07, 2014 8:12 pm

G'day,
Found this site about 1 month ago as I was researching about what sort of kit to start off with, Have to say you guys have helped out a lot & saved us some dollars as well :handgestures-thumbupleft: It did take a while to round up all the equipment but was definitely worth it.
Thanks Mac the tri clovers & fittings worked a treat which I ordered off your site, Cooked my first run a few days ago & went well :D
Anyway just wanted to say hello & look forward to chatting later on.

Welcome mate and good job. Love your tyre ring burner and having it upside down like that is a great idea better heat shroud. Did you have to cut the centre of the tyre out?. Also mate on another side note have a seperate photobucket account just for you still pics or just post directly to ad as your current account has personal pics and info can easily be stolen! Not saying it will happen but it can!

Hello,
Point taken about the pics, Sorted that out. Regarding the Tyre rim its a 15inch & yes I cut the hub section out just enough so there is a decent lip for the keg to sit on, The keg fits snug and very stable I hole sawed a few 32mm holes but found the burner struggled to breath when turned on flat out, Will cut couple sections out at the base so it can suck in the air from the bottom.
Gas burner I scored for Christmas is awesome man can it throw flame :scared-eek:
Bit early for me say how good the still is seeing it's my first go but so far so good easy to use. :-D
Thanks
