Hi there,

I've done about 4 batches of sugar wash through a reflux still. Picked up the basics fairly easily and have read as much as possible over the past 6 months. So now I feel qualified to start asking as many question I can think of.

Well I'm using a Pure Distilling reflux still (secondhand but in mint condition).

Have been doing plain old sugar washes. But not the cheap white sugar, dextrose (with turbo yeast), as it was highly recommended. I have my doubts though. Any thoughts on a 50/50 sugar/dex or 100% white sugar wash?

Oh and I live in the Barossa. Not the part on fire at the moment.

Sugar washes are fine...but you are right to doubt Turbos.

Head over to the Tried and Proven section and check out the Weetbix/All Bran and the TPW wash. It'll be cheaper, cleaner and easier.
