Here's a pic of my current setup (stripping run)

ah ha OK that is a basic simple pot still no packing and it won't be the still, this leaves methods . I assume you stripped it, do you have a way to control power otherwise your spirit run might be a bit quick causing smearing. Also a charge that size you want to really be collecting in 200 ml jars

The leibig on those alambic pots is criminally undersized for the element in the boiler. Without a controller your product will be pretty ordinary on the spirit run.

The size of the liebig has no effect on the run speed or product quality... As long as it's knocking everything down.

Probably be a good idea to invest in a bigger water container. From the size of it I imagine the water cooling temperature would go up very quickly making the product coming out quite warm as well???

True. But it does a terrible.job of that too. Its hard to flow enough water to knock down to a reasonable temperature.

Yes and no, the size will determine the max vapour speed . That is if its undersized there will be a point where its overwhelmed and not able to knock everything down. Quality : well a lot of guys will say if the coolant is hot so is the likker and I think maybe there is some truth to that, not sure of the reason, perhaps smearing.

I have found that statement to be extremely true while trying to recirculate water through monster size shotgun condenser, using cold water straight from the tap solved my problems when likker was a touch on the hot side so to speak. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You mention 500mL cut but don't mention discarding anything.
If we assume that you are ditching the foreshots and keeping the rest that would mean that you were drinking alot of heads.
Do you get a decent hangover the next day?

Is it a cool feeling like when you suck on some soothers or similar?
