West Virginia Hillbilly

Say Hi and introduce yourself

West Virginia Hillbilly

Postby Jarhead » Tue Apr 01, 2014 4:27 am

Figured it was time to say hello to all of you fine folks. I am from West Virginia in the USA as the subject suggests. Been pot stilling for a couple of years. Got stuck on the sweet feed recipe for a good while but am getting ready to try my hand at some AG recipes.

Pot still is 2" with a pre-condenser and liebig. Boiler is 15.5 gallon keg and recently added another 15.5 gallon keg thumper. Also built a 2" condenser controlled VM (dad's design) which I also run on top of the thumper. Roughly 55 inches of column packed with lava rock. Only have one real run through it so I am still figuring this one out.

Anyways that's about it. Glad to be here and hope I can contribute in some way.

Thanks Andy. Compared to some of the rigs out there now it's pretty modest. I really appreciate it though. Got 200 liters of TPW waiting to be ran so we can get to know each other a little better... hopefully  It is pretty easy to run but just need a little more seat time to dial it in.

Thanks. I just recently added it for my pot still but figured I would give it a shot on the VM. I know a lot of folks use a single plate below the packed section so I thought why not try it and see what happens. Only have one run through it but it made some nice azeo.
