Hello every one i am very new to distilling and this is also my first forum i have actually signed up to for anything. I apologize in advance for spelling and grammar errors  . I am very keen to soak up the broad range of knowledge there is on these pages. Im 21 I live in Toowoomba QLD. Just bought my set up it is a turbo 500 made my first batch of spirits it was the turbo wash that came with it. It is "polishing" atm. From reading these pages I was very keen to start a TPW and have just started fermenting it with in the last hour very excited to put the two different spirits next to each other. From what ive read the TPW is going to be much better how ever very new to operating my still so anything could happen. I dont have much knowledge on spirits in general with proper names and what not untill now i have just drank it :-D

Welcome mate. Great choice signing up here. Glad to see you have made a tpw :handgestures-thumbupleft: . Just take your time mate, dont rush the process and make sure you make your cuts. 300ml jars will be fine. What ever you do don't follow the mothod provided buy the hbs still. They will tell you to discard first 100 then keep the rest then filter. You will get a wicked hangover over as you are drinking heads, tails will give you the funky taste, hearts is the nectar of the gods.

Good luck with process and keep reading and asking questions :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Welcome mate :handgestures-thumbupleft: good to see another young fella here.

Plenty of people come into this hobby expecting to make heaps of cheap piss... It's a good idea to lose that mindset straight away, and concentrate on making GOOD spirits, better than you can buy from any bottle shop... It'll end up cheaper, yes, but you'll spend a considerable amount of time making a quality drop.

What do you like to drink?

I drink scotch and sometimes bundaberg rum. I am fairly new to drinking spirits I have always preferred beer but lately been trying different types of scotch and been loving every bit of it thats the reason I wanted to start distilling.
